老來身不由己？ 骨質、肌力是最大關鍵

今年台灣正式邁入高齡社會，據衛福部統計，2016年65歲以上失能老人約有50萬人，2031年後則可能倍增，失能率約16%，因此年長者的健康照護更顯重要。由於行動障礙症候群是造成骨折，進而導致失能的主要因素，究竟該怎麼做，才能免其隱憂，優雅地迎接銀髮生活？
鈣+維他命D缺乏 恐致骨折機率增
高雄長庚醫院內分泌新陳代謝科主任陳榮福表示，骨質好不好三分之二是基因，三分之一是後天造成。而現代人普遍鈣質攝取都不到建議量1200mg的一半，加上維他命D缺乏，不僅可能導致骨質流失、骨密度降低，造成骨折的機率也大幅提升。此外，女性骨折患者雖比男性多，但男性一旦罹患骨折後，所引起的共病死亡率卻比女性來的高。
空汙影響甚鉅 就連骨質也難逃
陳榮福主任說，許多人都以為空汙只會對人體肺部產生影響，但事實上，空汙危及身體健康的層面相當廣泛。因為空汙問題嚴重，不僅讓民眾外出曬太陽的意願降低，使得維他命D攝取不足；而當日照太強時，許多愛美的女性也都會塗上一層層防曬，導致無法完全吸收維他命D，進而影響到骨質，提高失能的機率。
甲狀腺亢進易骨鬆 也是骨折高危險族群
除此之外，陳榮福主任補充，甲狀腺亢進的患者也是容易骨折的高危險族群，隨著年紀增長，若是控制不佳，則可能引發心臟問題，如心臟病、心衰竭、心律不整外，甲狀腺亢進還會使骨骼日以繼夜的代謝，因此也是造成骨質疏鬆的元兇之一。
均衡飲食攝取+運動 才是存骨本的不二法門
陳榮福主任提醒，癌症、失智、失能是高齡化社會所要面對的重大挑戰，但失能者因身不由己，不僅對身體健康影響甚鉅，同時社會也需付出龐大資源。因此，面對失能問題，應及早存好骨本，每日補充足夠的鈣質，且以日曬補充維他命D，搭配上規律運動，增加肌力，才是預防骨本流失的根本。
全方位篩檢巡迴檢測 找出「行動障礙症侯群」
為了提升民眾對行動障礙症候群的認知，台灣骨鬆肌少關節防治醫學會和台塑企業暨王詹樣公益信託聯合舉辦「行動障礙症侯群全方位篩檢巡迴檢測」，深入各社區的里民中心和養護中心，透過全方面評估篩檢出高危險群，協助轉介到醫院進行治療，預防骨折失能發生。
